Abstract

Islamic ethical system with its unique features has special foundations. Imam Reza (AS) believed that the ethical system of Quran is based around monotheism. Extracting and introducing the foundations of Islamic ethics from theoretical point of view and the practical life of Imam Reza (AS) is an asset that can be used to explain the comprehensiveness of Islamic ethical system on the basis of monotheism.
Using Izutsu’s conceptual analysis approach, we research about this important issue. To achieve this goal, four stages have been taken. First, recognizing faith in the view of Imam Reza (AS); second, quoting some sayings of Imam Reza (AS) in which the word “faith” was used and referring scattered symbols to this central concept; third, referring faith to monotheism by using conceptual analysis approach; fourth, in a detailed explanation, the two concepts of "two-dimensional man" and "two-dimensional universe" are identified by examining the identity of man and the world in the view of monotheism, and on the basis of central concept of monotheism, other concepts that can be the basis of morality are introduced in a new classification.
